REQUIREMENTS:

1. Canoes / kayaks can be any length.

2. Power boats maximum of 14 feet and 10 Hp.

3. Mini Pontoons or Float Tubes are welcome.

* Canoes/ kayaks/ tubes may be towed/ ferried at start and finish of tournament to and from fishing area but no fishing is permitted during.

 

SAFETY:

1. All boats must carry a lifejacket/ PFD for each person aboard.

2. Life Jackets / PFD must be worn when a gas powered engine is operating.

3. If towing another boat, speed is to be kept to a minimum.

4. All boats must carry the required Transport Canada Safety Equipment.

* *Checks will be done on ALL competing boats. Any boats found to not have the required

safety gear will not be allowed to compete. 

 

LICENSE:

1. All participants must have a valid Nova Scotia Fishing License.

2. Pleasure craft operator card is required if operating a motorized boat.

 

 

FISHING:

1. All tournaments will be Catch/Measure/Photo/ Release

2. All boats are required to have a measuring device with visible numbers

3. All boats are required to have a camera with a removable SD card or a Smart Phone

4. A Token will be given to each boat, this must be in each picture

5. Max of 3 fish per boat will be entered regardless of the number of people aboard

6. Only those registered to fish may be permitted in the boat

7. Minimum size of bass is 9in/ 23cm

8. Two bass of the exact same length cannot be counted.

9. Only artificial lures permitted- No live bait or prepared bait- (Liquid fish attractants may be used).

10. All fish must be caught in a legal sporting manner using a rod and reel.

11. Only one (1) rod may be used at any one time per person.

12. All fish must be caught from the boat (no fishing from shoreline or docks).

13. Any boat arriving late at check-in will be docked one inch per minute up to ten minutes. After ten 

minutes the boat will be disqualified.

 

ENTRY FEES:

$10.00 per person (under 16 free if with an adult)

LUNKER POOL (100% PAYOUT)$5.00

CHAIN PICKEREL POOL ( NOT ALL TOURNAMENTS) $5.00 

 

PRIZES:

1ST PLACE: 50% payout

2ND PLACE: 30% payout

3RD PLACE: 20% payout  

In the case of a tie , the prize will be split.

 

SPORTSMANSHIP:

1. Competitors are expected to follow a high standard of sportsmanship, courtesy, safety, and conservation.

2. Any infraction of these fundamental sporting principles may be deemed cause for disqualification.

 

TOURNAMENT DIRECTORS HAVE THE DISCRETION TO:

1. Disqualify competitors for any violation of the tournament rules without a refund.

2. Cancel or postpone the tournament in the case of bad weather.

*All decisions are final and binding.
